CEFA - A CBD RV

RV Mural

Created for CBD Essentials For All (CEFA), this project transformed a standard pull-behind RV into a mobile retail experience designed to travel beyond the reach of a single storefront. As CEFA expanded from its Charlotte base into festivals, events, and on-the-road visibility, the RV became both a storefront and a moving visual presence.

Instead of relying on temporary banners or signage, the vehicle itself became the message. Layered green tones and CBD leaf motifs were used to create a strong, readable identity that could be recognized whether the RV was parked or in motion.

At roughly 20 feet long and over 9 feet tall, with more than 400 square feet of paintable surface across all four sides, the RV presented a large-scale and highly nontraditional substrate. Its ribbed metal siding, segmented panels, curves, and elevation required the composition to be adapted carefully so it would remain cohesive from every angle and readable at a distance.

The exterior was sanded, primed, hand-painted, sealed, and finished with a marine-grade protective topcoat to support durability on the road. Initial preparation and early painting took place on-site in Charlotte, while the final painting and finishing were completed at my home studio under more controlled working conditions.

During that studio phase, I brought on two temporary crew members for several days—artists assisting with execution while gaining hands-on experience with large-scale application. Their support helped move the project forward, and their involvement also reflects my continued interest in sharing knowledge and creating opportunities for other artists as they grow.

By turning the RV itself into the visual system, this project expands the role of art into something mobile, useful, and highly visible. It shows how painted work can travel through public space, carrying both purpose and presence from one setting to the next.
